    REVELATION. 3:24 PM

    im going to great means to find out the meaning of the word 'deconstruction'.

    'basically', it means:
    a philosophical and critical movement, starting in the 1960s and esp. applied to the study of literature, that questions all traditional assumptions about the ability of language to represent reality and emphasizes that a text has no stable reference or identification because words essentially only refer to other words and therefore a reader must approach a text by eliminating any metaphysical or ethnocentric assumptions through an active role of defining meaning, sometimes by a reliance on new word construction, etymology, puns, and other word play.

    OR

    A philosophical movement and theory of literary criticism that questions traditional assumptions about certainty, identity, and truth; asserts that words can only refer to other words; and attempts to demonstrate how statements about any text subvert their own meanings: "In deconstruction, the critic claims there is no meaning to be found in the actual text, but only in the various, often mutually irreconcilable, 'virtual texts' constructed by readers in their search for meaning" (Rebecca Goldstein).

    to give myself more of a challenge, im gonna use the first definition. First, I mean. *evil grin.

    now, what is metaphysical? or, metaphysics:
    1. the branch of philosophy that treats of first principles, includes ontology and cosmology, and is intimately connected with epistemology.
    2. philosophy, esp. in its more abstruse branches.
    3. the underlying theoretical principles of a subject or field of inquiry.

    [so im just gonna take it as 'philosophy'. like sheen said: "you know, like what mr chen said, that to prove a chair does not exist, how are you gonna say it? and the answer is like, 'what chair?'" That, is metaphysics and proves to be quite an interesting subject.]

    and, ethnocentric or ethnocentrism:
    –noun 1. Sociology. the belief in the inherent superiority of one's own ethnic group or culture.
    2. a tendency to view alien groups or cultures from the perspective of one's own.

    OR

    1.Belief in the superiority of one's own ethnic group.
    2.Overriding concern with race.

    ok I get it. xD

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~now for the other meaning~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    subvert:
    –verb (used with object) 1. to overthrow (something established or existing).
    2. to cause the downfall, ruin, or destruction of.
    3. to undermine the principles of; corrupt.
    yup thats bout it. so I can roughly know what deconstruction means! and its a cool word. haha. oh, you didnt need to have read this. it was for my own benefit actually. lol. I guess it's a bit too late for this :D and the song 'apologise' is not bad. anybody got the song? haha.
    today was a good day...
