    REVELATION. 10:20 PM

Finally it's here! Sorry, but you may get bored along the way. this is only for hardcore people who are bored/are super interested in my life (if its the latter I thank you xD)! uh, so enjoy. hahaha. Pics are up on facebook, I'll post some nicer ones up here on Friday (its 3D chalet tmr!;D).

    Day 1, Thursday 040609.

Left Singapore at about 0930. Reached the airport at Langkawi around 11 plus or so. It was a 20 minute drive to the Bella Vista Hotel (yes I know it sounds like some grand place. And it does look like a castle out of a fairytale. The rooms, however, were not really up to that façade xD) and the Toyota Vios we rented was quite comfy haha. The apartment room was 2 storeys high and the stairs was freaky cos it creaked everytime you stepped on it. And it didn’t look very stable. Toilets were rather small but cozy- if you could call a toilet cozy- and there was no shower place. Just a showerhead next to the sink and toiletbowl. Haha. So the whole place got wet when you bathed.

Ate lunch at Awana Porto Malai, another resort which we almost stayed at. Had a nice view and a jetty which we explored. Apparently my bro tried to act like he was in a bollywood movie cos he had my mum’s black shawl and it was super windy. I shall post the pics up tomorrow xD went shopping at the biggest mall in town, which in actual fact was smaller than eastpoint. Haha I wonder where the kids hang out. But actually, the stuff there are cheap. Bought 2 t shirts and a pair of shorts from F.O.S. for 33RM (about $13), which is unbelievably affordable and its of good quality. I like my brother’s belts!

Headed to the jetty where ferries leave Langkawi to KL or Penang or Pulau Payar (:D) daily. Not to take a boat, but to eat dinner. Kenny Rogers!:D haha its cheaper than Singapore and the jacket potatoes were awesome. I still like Singapore branches’ corn muffins though. Walked around the mall at the jetty and played one game at the arcade with my bro. Died at the first stage though, cos it was my first time playing xD and I saw a stall in the mall where they hand painted shoes for you! Cool.

Came back quite late and watched 1 ep of The Closer (series) which my dad brought frm Singapore and went to sleep. Aircon was directly in front of my bed and it was rather cold. Woke up 4 times that morning/night :/ but well, I got used to it. Eventful first day!:D

    Day 2, Friday 050609.
Woke up super early, at 7am. The hotel’s bfast was at the poolside for the first day and it was… to put it in nicer terms, not-so-edible-but-bearable. Only the potato wedges were nice haha. The porridge was watery, and they had like, 5 dishes to choose from. Met this Portuguese-Australian dude who my dad started talking to, but that’s beside the point. Haha he seemed nice though.

Changed into a t shirt and my swimming suit bottom aka pants cos it was Pulau Payar day!:D haha the most intriguing day of the trip. The bus came to fetch us to the ferry terminal at 9.10am (it was late, bleh) cos the ferry was leaving at 9.30am, supposedly. Left later though. Pulau Payar is an island 1 hour away from Langkawi and is a marine park reserve, which is super cool and the water is super clear. The fish were super nice too xD the other cool part was when the ferry had to stop behind the main part of the island (due to strong currents) and they had to transfer us to a small boat which takes 15 people.

Was extremely fun and I don’t mind doing it again cos you had to do it one by one (of course w a life jacket) and you had to hop from the ferry to the boat. Dangerous but thrilling. And I like choppy rides!:D haha the makeshift jetty where you alighted was also rocking like mad and I almost fell. Plus the steps up to the sturdy part of the jetty was on a string and was suspended in midair, so someone had to hold it down while you jumped on the first step and climbed your way up. Sounds very fear factor-ish but it’s not very dangerous. Just that if you lose your footing you’ll end up in the sea with the black-tipped sharks xD

Collected snorkels and the masks cos you could go snorkelling in the waters, till about 20m out of the shore. Cos after that the sharks would be in the area and well, you may end up getting your legs bitten off. And I finally know how to breathe through the snorkelling thing xD you have to bite it tight but sometimes water will get in after about 2 min or so. The black banded yellow fish were really nice. Saw some pipe fish and a grouper, plus baby black-tipped sharks. Cute xD

Went snorkelling in the shallow waters with my lifejacket, cos the current was quite strong. Those little eejits actually bit me while I was feeding them, but that’s expected haha. And I actually saw a fish staring at me and trying to bite my goggles at the side lol! Super cool. Had packed lunch there, which was provided. We had till 2.45pm before they would start ferrying us back to the ferry by the small boats and it was still 1 plus so my bro, mum and me went for the jungle hike which was 183 steps up to the middle of the hill. Longer than the wan li chang chen xD there were more paths ahead but we just went to one clearing which had a super nice view of the sea. But was scary cos if you lost your footing you’ll plummet down into the ocean and smash your skull against the rocks haha.

Took the 2nd last small boat back to the ferry cos they had about 5 or 6 rounds and I didn’t want to wait in the ferry for so long. The climbing down the metal stairs to the jetty platform was scarier cos the wind was a lot fiercer and the platform was being tossed about. Of course they had people to help us so in the end I had to jump about a metre down to the platform. Had to sit while waiting for the others cos you would almost definitely fall off the platform if you stood. The pictures will be uploaded tmr xD

Reached the main island at about 5pm and went back to the hotel to slack. Oh yes, I forgot to say that the hotel has cable, but only discovery channel, HBO, AXN and ESPN. No star sports! Couldn’t watch the F1 turkey qualifying and see vettel own button xD haha went to a coffee shop to eat. The veg there was nice, so was the prawn and the honeydew juice lol.

We went to this duty free shop and I bought toblerone and kinder bueno xD my dad/bro bought 2 small bottles of liquor to try (40% alcohol. Whoa.) and we bought some mango and durian chocs too. Haha. Headed back and watched will smith’s 7 pounds, which had a super touching and sad ending): good show though.

    Day 3, Saturday 060609.
Woke up at 8am for bfast since it was a free day. Gosh the breakfast. Haha at least they started serving egg since the 2nd day xD decided to drive around the whole island for the day and see the stuff. We saw monkeys! Cute things but the leader of one of the packs we saw was super rough and snatched bread from the smaller monkey. Kinda scary cos it was pretty near.

Stopped by the craft center which apparently sold some Langkawi souvenirs and pottery. My mum went crazy over them cos they were really nice and affordable! Haha. And I bought my rat from there. It’s gone now, though ): bleh! Drove around again to look at the beaches- Pantai Kok (harhar) and Tanjong Rhu. Got into an ‘accident’ when a van knocked into the back of the Vios cos it wasn’t looking. Hmph. Got RM120 as compensation and the dents were knocked back into place xD

Had made almost a whole round of the island when we decided to stop at Langkawi Lagoon which was where we stayed in 2002 when we came for the first time! :D it looks nice, but its ex. And the staff are super friendly. We went there just for the recreation room- table soccer, carom and pool! A funny part was when the person in charge asked for our room number and my dad said, ‘1308’ when we weren’t even staying there xD but it wasn’t a lie either, cos our room number was really 1308… at bella vista xD Table soccer was 2 aside and it was super funny and exciting. Fyi my fingers ached the next day (cos we went back to play at night again). Pool was cool too, can’t wait till I’m 16 to play in public. Haha.

Went swimming at the hotel pool for a bit. Tried their ice kachang which was- amazingly- horrible. Ice was hard, jelly thingys were tasteless and there was no gula melaka or condensed milk xD and its surprising cos its Malaysia! Like, where ice kachang originated from! Hahahaha.

Went back to the Langkawi Lagoon stretch, in the South-West region and ate at this open-air café-ish place. Their chicken cordon bleu wasn’t very nice and their desserts (banana coconut milk gula melaka mix) were super sweet which I like but too much became kinda unbearable. Then headed back to the Langkawi Lagoon again for another 2 rounds of table soccer:D

Slept around 0000 and knocked off straight away. Last night!):

    Day 4, Sunday 070609.
Woke up at 0755 for breakfast. Had to check in at 0930 at the airport. The food was… as usual, not very good. My dad skipped it entirely and later we had another round of bfast (so to speak) at the mezza nine level at the airport. Some iced tea and garlic bread. Checked the internet there too xD

Oh, I saw [Dr.] Mahatir! HAHA super amazing. Reached the airport and was wondering why there were so many policemen waiting around. Dad found out that a ‘VIP’ was coming, so we kinda deduced that it was Dr. Mahatir (I don’t wish to offend any Malaysian authorities) cos it was his island, somewhat. We saw a whole bunch of people surrounding him. His entourage must be around 20+ ppl hahaha! And he was wearing his usual brown shirt xD I didn’t get his autograph xD

Walked on the tarmac to the plane. Rather sad cos it would probably be the last time I set foot on the island… after all, we had toured the whole island and there wasn’t much else to do. Haha. The air asia plane looked like a 20th century biplane. We saw Dr. Mahatir’s private jet and an airline called FireFly which I vow never to take, cos it runs on propellers and not engines. And it looked rather old.

Arrived at T1 Changi around 12.30pm. I love the airport! Haha. And well, that’s the end of the super long post. It was 1869 words in total excluding this sentence and the next one. Bet half of the people here got bored, but I guess it’s for my own keepsake! :D
