REVELATION. 9:52 PM
I shall blog about yesterday cos it was a really awesome albeit tiring day :D
Left for the Body World exhibit at the science centre at about 9am. Thought we would reach there at about 10am but the traffic was so slow that it dragged till about 10.20. We got rather bored and thank goodness Crystal brought poker cards so we were playing at the back of the bus (yes, we were were first up and rushed to the back). It was Crystal, me, Man Jing (in the centre), Keith and Dexter, with Isaac and Yong Hong sitting in the 2 seats just infront of us. The bus ride was fun and we were making the loudest noises at the back cos apparently yh and Isaac were talking about certain guys' good traits. harhar.
Reached the science centre and a lot of people rushed to the toilets cos it was a long journey and as Crystal described, 'the bus bouncing up and down makes me [us] wanna pee!' xD got a chop at the entrance and today in class you could still see it on all the hands of those who went bleh. haha. Its very faint now though.
If I were to describe the exhibits one by one I'll be typing this till dawn so I shall cut it short. And its hard to describe it in words actually. You should definitely go and see it! Cos its super awesome :D I just saw the ad on tv just now and I saw a lot of exhibits advertised which I didn't recognise. There was this guy holding a soccer ball and another one holding a heart. Hmm, how come we didn't see those? The heart looked cool xD
Didn't see the pregnant woman either. That should be cool! But we saw the embryos in test tubes and they were minute. Like the size of a pea at the start, or even smaller. And we could see the outline of the features at 8 weeks! So cute xD They had real live specimens of foetuses there too, and some cross-sectional diagram of a male and a female... mating. lol.
Another cool thing was the giraffe exhibit cos they showed the cross-sectional bit of it too, and it was sliced up into many many pieces. Of course it wasn't the real skin, but it was something like a holographic except that it didn't look different or glitter when you looked at different angles and stuff. haha. It was interesting cos it was like an X-ray diagram of the whole giraffe and you could see the cavities of the stomach, the outline of the brain and stuff.
Of course the human exhibits were great too. Some model was holding his own skin in his hand and it looked scarily like a jumpsuit :O you could see the outline of the feet and nails and fingers and even the head. Eerily, he still had his hair on his skin and we deduced that he was, ahem, Caucasian because he was fair-haired. haha! Some woman model even had hair left... on certain areas. cough. Anyway, other exhibits included deers, a horse (which was gigantic and didnt seem to be suspended from a string so we wondered how it managed to stand), the giraffe, human body parts like livers, ears, hearts, spleens, spinal chords and capillaries. Stomachs, intestines, tongues, whatever you named it, they had it. Even genitals and brains (which looked like pasta). haha.
There was this giant squid whose eyes were magnificently blue. Like some Caucasian. Except that it wasn't one of course. haha! its eyes were the size of... lets see, a keychain breadou xD and they were blue with a bit of orange. In the centre, there were black yin-like designs which were the pupils (I assume). Really nice. Sadly we can't take photos so you've just gotta see it yourself :)
Bought a group pic of us at a scammer price of $2.50 but its for keepsake so its okay I guess. haha. Ate macs and got 12 monopoly coupons (got another 8 today)- 8 from dexter and 4 from my normal EVM. haha I need toa payoh, joo chiat & the middle green piece (can't remember what it is) xD anyway left the place at 1.30 after taking group shots of the whole entourage (:P). We were hoping there would be a jam so we'll reach back later but in the end we reached with 20 min to spare before the tea house visit.
Not that the tea house was bad anyway. Learnt quite a few new things and interesting concepts but I can't remember all of em cos 1) It was in Chinese, 2) Too many steps to follow! haha so we just went there to enjoy the ambiance (if any) and the super nice cha ye dan and fried ice cream. Did some paper lantern thing which is somewhere in my bag, unfinished. oops.
The tea was not bad and it really had 3 different smells when it was just poured, cooled and then emptied. Learnt how to hold the cups and all, plus how to swirl and smell it! hahaha. The place was pretty old and the ceiling was super low. Floorboards super thin and you could see the level below actually. We sat on the floor like traditional times and my legs eventually grew numb. oh well.
Okay the oh-so-famous Joohwee just asked me to upload the TBB nemation intro vid on our fan page now so I'm off to retrieve it from my email! I'll post it here one day perhaps. But not today xD
